Miley Cyrus comes to Ocean Plaza Beach Resort
2009 was the year Hollywood discovered Tybee Island and the Ocean Plaza Beach Resort. Walt Disney Pictures filmed on Tybee Island a movie drama titled “The Last Song” starring teenage superstar Miley Cyrus, who is also known to thousands of loving fans as Hannah Montana. Kelly Preston and Greg Kinnear played Miley’s parents in the movie. The stars were frequently spotted at Ocean Plaza.
For several months Tybee Island saw a surge in business activity due to the publicity, spectators, movie extras, news media and paparazzi, cast and crew, and logistical dining and parking equirements brought by the filming of Miley’s movie. The Ocean Plaza Beach Resort had the unique privilege of hosting the movie’s base camp and staging area. |

Lights on for Tybee
